The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.
My ASAT Z-3 with serial# CLF28449 has a flame maple top, locking tuners and birdseye maple neck.
I dont know the body wood, year built, color, or much else. Wish I new how to post pics, but if anyone can help, please respond. Id like to know if its a rare combo, what the color is called, are they still available? Pretty anything there is to know about it. I kind of lucked into it

What do you need help identifying? Based on the serial number it is in the range of build year 2002-2003. Your description sounds like all standard options that could be ordered. Pretty much all G&Ls are built to order. So if you are looking for this exact configuration in a catalog you are probably not going to find it.
Body woods are an option today, I don't know if they were then, but maple capa certainly were. Would need to see some pictures. Sound like it's a looker.

See this post and look for the link to the Tutorial for posting photos: Welcome! Read This First.
Also, check out our Gallery : Album: Ad Slicks and Memorabilia : Album: 1998 - 1999 Memorabilia.
You will find the 1998 G&L Catalog and the February 1, 1998 US Dealer Price List which will includes the various options which were available at the time.
The finish appears to be Honey Burst which is a current premium finish. Body wood appears to swamp ash which is a current option that include premium finish choices. Bridge is a Saddle Lock bridge standard on this model. DFV would be an optional bridge. White pearliode pickguard is a current option. Looks like birds eye maple with vintage tint gloss. Locking tuners and flame mple cap are upgrade options that still current. It is a beutiful guitar! Is it a rare combo? Hard to say, like I said before they are built to order from the choice of many ala cart options G&L offers. There really aren't factory spec guitars execpt for for very few exceptions. Nothing looks off menu but that doesn't mean there are a lot with the same exact combinations of options. If it was mine, I'd say its a keeper.

The Locking tuners and the Premier finishes/Swamp Ash body were included for the ASAT Z-3 of this age.
The optional items this guitar has are the birdseye maple neck, GOT neck finish, Flame Maple cap, and the rear body contour.
All G&L instruments have a standard specification for neck specs, bridge type, pickups and pickguard.
Of course, the buyer does need to select the body color finish and any other options they want.
