Behold CLF079842, alder body, jet black frost, OLS, front and rear contours, soft V neck, ebony fretboard, pickguard delete, face dots delete, matching headstock, and graph-tech nut and string tree.
I was originally thinking about the Broadcasters' all black color scheme, but without black hardware that's a bit difficult to achieve. That opened me up to considering other things like frosted finish, pickguard delete, etc. Needless to say, I think it's totally awesome.

I remember seeing that one on G&L's facebook page and was like WOW! I'm still like WOW! That is one drop dead gorgeous ASAT. Well done Art!
I bet an SC-2 finished similarly would be awesome.
Rock on Art.... Cheers, Dan.

Re: NGD: ASAT Special
Thanks all! My first G&L equipped with a saddle lock bridge, and I'm really liking the sustain and the tuning stability.
A couple more photos, first a family portrait.
And then, I'm curious about this one. Is the headstock birthmark missing because this is a soft V neck, or have production processes changed so that it no longer shows up on any USA made G&L?
Thanks again!

It's because of production process changes, see this post in our G&L Knowledgebase: what is the little dot on the back of g&l headstocks?.art wrote:Thanks all! My first G&L equipped with a saddle lock bridge, and I'm really liking the sustain and the tuning stability.

Re: NGD: ASAT Special
I was talking to someone at G&L last year when I bought one of my ASAT Special HB's to clarify some information and mentioned not only the headstock Birthmark but also the two on the back. This was the first time I had seen the ones on the back. He told me that they no longer need to use the dowel pin method anymore but they still put one there to pay homage to the old ways. So you may see them go away altogether some day.
