Just got new G&L SC-2

Post by helmet4000 »

My first American G&L. A Himalayan Blue SC-2. I was a bit worried that I would return it to Guitar Center then and there, but was pleasantly surprised at the 9.5" neck radius. So it is a #1 G&L Classic C - 1 5/8" nut width, .830" at first fret and .96 at the 12 fret. I should mention that GC and MF both list a 12" radius. If this neck felt like my Tribute Fallout (with a "Slim C") I would have returned it. The SC-2 is definitely in a class of its own. The body is much different from the Tribute Fallout.

The setup was performed on 1/24/17 according to the Spec sheet and there is no smell greater than a brand new American guitar coming out of a Deluxe Black Tolex Case.

I will post pictures, though you can find them on the Guitar Center website.

Thanks for posting! I'm really glad you mentioned the neck profile. I just ordered an SC-2 from MF despite the neck description being like my tribute Fallout. Great guitar but that neck is a killer. I haven't been able to play for 2 days to give my fret hand a rest...

The SC-2 / Fallout / LE-2 is my favorite body style G&L offers - followed by the ASAT. If I recall you were looking for a tremolo... Did you get it with DFV or SaddleLock? I'm partial to the SaddleLock, but keep think I should add a tremlo guitar to the family.

Cheers,
Dan
