I'm looking for more info on the AW4470B humbucker (2015 Tribute Fallout). Specifically the DCR and Alnico type (A2, A5?)
If anyone has measured their Trib Fallout pups and has readings, I'd appreciate what they've got.
FTR, I have looked at the posts Decoding the various G&L pickup part numbers and List of pickups used in G&L guitars the details shown there are for the AW4370B. The only info for the AW4470B is the wire gauge & number of turns.
I know it's only a difference between 43 and 44 gauge wire, but I'd like to know without de-soldering my pickup and measuring it.
Thanks

G&L built Alnico pickups use Alnico 5 magnets, except for the G&L A2S4248N Alnico II magnet humbucker which use Alnico 2 magnets.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the magnet info Craig.
I forgot about measuring the pickups in situ trick with a guitar lead! Duh!
Cheers,
mrc
ps:
I'll post the results once I have the measurements in the off chance it can help someone else.

Re: AW4470B humbucker specs
OK, I have some info to share...
Notes:
1. Readings were taken in situ with a 25cm Lava Ultramafic Solid 20AWG conductor shielded cable (cable R total = 1.6 ohms)
2. Ambient and coil temperatures 20° C (purely coincidence btw - I don't live in a laboratory )
Readings:
G&L Humbucker AW4470B = 17.05k ohms
G&L P-90 AP4285B = 7.53k ohms
These are the Indonesian-made pickups in the 2015 Tribute Fallout and, as Craig helpfully informed above, they are Alnico 5 magnets.
I hope someone else finds this info useful.
Cheers,
mrc
