The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.

Sunset Gold Metallic

Post by Brynonymus »

Hello!

I've been coming to the forum for a years but never contributing or participating actively. I've been a G&L fan for decades. I currently own 7, 4 of which are 1986 or older. I bought my first, a Rampage in Rampage Red new in 1985. I had to post when I bought my latest G&L, a 2008 Legacy Deluxe in Sunset Gold Metallic (matching headstock). That's where the problem started. It was sold as Yukon Gold. It is NOT! The official G&L paper work that came with it listed the color as Sunset Gold Metallic. I cannot find a single picture or any evidence online that this color ever existed. I was very surprised to find that I could find NOTHING (via that giant search engine Gxxxle). I didn't even find any entries in the GbL forums that contained the words Sunset & Gold (My search: "+sunset +gold"). Pretty wild.

Has anyone heard of this color?
Got any history on Sunset Gold Metallic?

I wish I could post a picture but I don't have my pics posted anywhere online. I have no URLs..

Thanks for any help!!

No, I have not heard of this color. Without photos we can't help you id this color. You can use our Gallery to upload photos to, see: Tutorial: Posting photos.
Post photos of the full front and back of this guitar. I also would like to see the official G&L paper work, too.

Looking forward to seeing this guitar. :searching:

I tried a post with URLs, but it didn't seem to work. I'm trying again.

http://www.guitarsbyleo.com/GALLERY2/ma ... emId=19195

You can't really tell by the pics, but the color turns a little reddish when looked at off angle. Looks sort of like a sunset..

Thanks for taking a look!

I think I've seen this one before, maybe on the G&L Facebook page, with others of same sort of spec. I remember thinking they had a cool 80s Charvel look to them

Great color, I like that much more than Yukon Gold...
