I'm not crazy about the design of the current six saddle bridge on my new ASAT Classic Trubute because the strings come so close out of the thru body holes to the intonation screw springs. I do however find that it has great sustain as is. Has anyone changed to the below saddles? And what do you think of the results? Thanks fellas (and any dudesses).
Has anyone bought and used this saddle upgrade for ASAT?

I don't think these'll work on an ASAT Classic bridge without drilling new holes on the back edge. You could do it, but I don't think you'd gain anything from it.

Would you know what bridge these are made for? I'm sure it would be a mess trying to make six new holes in the back of the bridge I have. It appears to me that having the shaft on the right would either work or be too close to the existing hole to drill new ones. Thanks.blargfromouterspace wrote:I don't think these'll work on an ASAT Classic bridge without drilling new holes on the back edge. You could do it, but I don't think you'd gain anything from it.

It's for the Saddle-Lock bridge.Corporal Clegg wrote:Would you know what bridge these are made for? I'm sure it would be a mess trying to make six new holes in the back of the bridge I have. I want to play my Classic a bit more before making any changes, but I wondered about the string/spring contact as well. Has anyone decided they needed a solution, and if so, what was it (without replacing the bridge)?Corporal Clegg wrote:I'm not crazy about the design of the current six saddle bridge on my new ASAT Classic Trubute because the strings come so close out of the thru body holes to the intonation screw springs. I have to admit the sustain on the native bridge and saddle combo is great. No need to dump money into the saddles. I do love the Graph Tech chome saddles which I used to replace the bent steel jobbies on my American standard Strat.Coop47 wrote:I want to play my Classic a bit more before making any changes, but I wondered about the string/spring contact as well. Coop, please explain what you refer to as the "string/spring contact"? Do you have a pic of the issue? Is it something like the pic below from a Music Man Sabre II? I have not seen a G&L bridge with this issue. This bridge is the early Leo Fender design Saddle Lock bridge, but without the locking screw.

I would say that is exactly that. It looks a tad fragile--especially with a whammy bar.FZTNT wrote:Coop47 wrote:I want to play my Classic a bit more before making any changes, but I wondered about the string/spring contact as well.
