NGD: First real G&L

Post by eurotrashed »

I've had a G&L Tribute SB-2 ever since they started the line up in Korea. I've always liked the ASAT Special but I've always ended up with a different guitar, including putting MFDs in a Fender Jaguar. So I finally bought my first real G&L. Originally I was going to buy a Leo Era guitar as I see them appreciating however finding a non 7.5" radius guitar was hard, and visually boring as most seem to be blonde or black.

I started hunting down a Classic Custom but missed the ones I liked, then thought about a Blues boy but this guitar caught my eye.

I'm not a fan of red guitars, especially not dark reds (I just started appreciating Fiesta red) but something about this combo looks right and classy. The sellers pic looks much better

That is one purty guitar, congratulations!

I was not a fan of red guitars until I got my "first one", now I do appreciate them more. Your metallic red looks sweet.

Very Nice! Love it!

Congratulations! Silly question I'm sure, but how does it sound with the super reverb? Great no doubt.

The picture with the super really reverb came from the seller as he captured the Ruby Red better. I have a Bandmaster Reverb that's been blackfaced, everything sounds good through it.

I had a hard time finding an ASAT with a rosewood board. all my other guitars are maple so I didn't want more maple

thanks guys.

Eurotrashed, I love the looks of your ASAT special semi-hollow. Bet it sounds/plays sweet.
Something about "red" guitars, for me.
Southpaw, I also have a crush on the guitar in your avatar - unique, and the black krinkle looks cool.

Thanks, its a 1995 3 bolt, and i really like it too. It has some real "attitude" in the bridge pickup, out of all my guitars that one probably has the best/most useable 'bridge pickup only' sound. I have an ASAT classic semi-hollow as well which is not far behind, but can get a little squeally when you dial up the gain... But this one, well it just snarls at you.

I saw this one on the G&L Facebook page. I'm disappointed I'm right handed
