Post by David »

Here's a video I just posted that shows how easy it is to play walking bass lines and chords at the same time...

That is a super lesson, I am going to try it out when I get my hands on a guitar. I am interested in learning how to play jazz, but really don't have any idea how to start. Perhaps you have something that can help?

David, is your picture on here of "Commando Cody", ie "Commander Cody"? I have a rare interview with him by Phil Proctor on the "J Men Forever" DVD. BTW, great videos!

Hey Kit, if you look on my Youtube channel - http://www.youtube.com/user/ZamarGeetar - there are some more jazz lessons there. Look at the video called "How to play 112 jazz chords" and the video called "How to play All The Things You Are". There's lots of other great stuff out there on the internet for free.

Jazz theory is rather involved - I'd estimate it takes the same amount of study as learning a foreign language to be fluent in it. However, you can have a lot of fun and learn a bunch by learning a few jazz tunes, and a few jazz chords. I've been trying to learn jazz guitar for a few decades and hope to be a jazz guitarist when I grow up - guess I better hurry up :D

To be honest, I have no idea where that photo originated. I just found it somewhere on the web a few years ago and liked it.
