New Guitar! A little different?

Post by H13 »

Hey!

So I bought myself a brand-spanking new G&L S500. My fingers now have holes in them because I keep playing that glorious bastard.

Here's some pictures 'cos that's what we're mostly here for:

Aint she pretty?

Here's the interesting (to me) part. It's a SL500 Tribute model, but as you can tell, it's a Blueburst. The G&L website don't have Blueburst models for an SL500 Tribute. The neck has "Made in Indonesia" stamped on it, so I'm curious as to what I've got here. Was there a run of Blueburst SL500 Tributes a while ago and I managed to snag a last-copy? Is it a new thing that they're bringing in and haven't updated their website? Or have I got an anomaly here? Happy to provide more information :)

Blueburst Tribute S-500 models Made in Indonesia were made from 2007-2011. Check the first four digits of the serial number for the build year/build month. See: Serial number significance.

Check our G&L Registry and you will find these Tribute S-500 with Blueburst finish.

Please add yours to the G&L Registry.

Hope this helps.

Well how about that. The number is 080940402. So it's a 2008.

I got in Australia. I heard that the distributor was having difficulty and sitting on a whole bunch of G&L stuff for ages before they made it to the stores. If somebody told me this was pre-owned, my jaw would hang somewhere around my knees though.
