I've owned a number of Strats since I acquired my first a few decades ago at age 17. Recently, I picked up a Flame top Legacy Tribute in a trade (apparently a special run for Guitar Center). Import guitar or no, I am seriously impressed! so much so that I've decided my next guitar will be a USA legacy. To me, it is everything I wished my Fenders were.
I do have a question. I am toying with the idea of buying a G&L rail pickup for the bridge and wondered how that would mate up with the stock legacy singles. Will there be a huge difference in output? i am considering this in part to determine if I want a Legacy or Legacy Special.
Thanks!

I would suggest you go for the Legacy Special. You already have the Tribute Flame Top Legacy (which has pickups spec'd by G&L and built at the Indonesia factory and are the same as the US Legacy pickups),Sevynn wrote:I've owned a number of Strats since I acquired my first a few decades ago at age 17. so the Legacy Special will get you another set of tones. I know many members here (including myself) really like them.
Just my $.02.
Please post photos of your Tribute Flame Top Legacy and add it to our G&L Registry.

Re: New G&L owner
Thanks for the feedback. I am likely going to go with a Legacy Special. I am considering the possibility of installing a Power Blade in the bridge of this guitar at some point to see how I like it.
Will get pics posted soon. Took it to the shop for a set up and to have the nut replaced as it was cut a bit too deep on a couple of strings and had some rattles.
