Hi All,
For some reason, I can not post pix to the site today. It's an on going problem for me.
But... I can post a link to pic, so I have done that. This pic is a family pic of the lap steels I have built, all using the G&L saddle lock bridge. 2 of the LSs use G&L pups.
The three on the left have P-90s for pups, all different vendors. The HB looking pup is actually a TV Jones Filtertron. Then a Z coil, and a soap bar from an ASAT Special.

Time to see if the Sharks can beat the Blues & make the Stanley Cup for the first time.

Nice family shot !
You've been busy.
How about a close up of the one flamey one on the right ?

I had to use the timage tag and enter the dimensions to get the pic to work,
maybe the img tag isn't working right, or maybe because it's in a 'trash' folder...I dunno.
Try the timage tag, that might work for you
What's your kinda slides do you like?

Hi,
Same pic, slightly bigger size. Trying to work with Photoshop & the board, using different interpretations of the same things is a PITA. But I think I figured it out. In PS set resolution = 100 pixels per inch, the set size. Then set timage code.
Pic of "flamey" LS to come.

Very nice! What did you use to mount the Z-coil?

Hello,
Hey Elwood
The LS Special is flame maple. The pix don't show the flame on the fretboard real well, but you can sort of see it... A little......
So I included a pic of the bridge/pup area where the flame really shows up. The flame also shows up on the sides real well.

Later,

The super-comfy saddle-lock is an inspired choice for a lap steel!
You've been doing some neat work, and hopefully now having fun with the results.
I would love one with a Z-coil, preferably a WR one; probably my all-time favourite back pup.
Nice work

Hey Nick,
It's not hard to do. Cut the center piece of wood 2.875" wide, then route the nut, then a .5" wide slot across the wood for the bridge. Do the frets, glue on the wings, & shape the headstock. EZ PZ.
If you want more detailed info on how to do this, let me know.
