Black Saddle Lock bridge available?

The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.

Black Saddle Lock bridge available?

Post by psychocandy »

Is it possible to buy the black saddle lock bridge directly from G&L? I'm just wondering since they sell the chrome bridges in the store. I've tried looking for a used one, but so far haven't had any luck.

No, G&L does not currently sell them as replacement parts.

There are a couple of sources you might try, which are listed in the Links page: ESI and Tone-Guard.

Perhaps other members here know of resources for you to try and they will come forward with this information for all.

Hope this helps.

Okay, thanks for the response. I'll try the sources you suggested. In the meantime, I'll keep an eye out for a used one. Thanks again for the info!

Oh, one more question... What's the difference between the saddles on the Tribute Superhawk and the US made Superhawk? Are the saddles on the US made version brass? Just curious.

The Tribute Superhawk saddles are black powder-coated zinc alloy and the Tribute Superhawk Deluxe saddles are chrome zinc alloy.
The US Superhawk models have chrome plated brass saddles.

Hope this helps.

Great, thanks for all the info! I'm not sure why I haven't thought about this before, but could I have the bridge base plate powder coated? Or does it have to be raw/unpolished?

Yeah, I thought for sure that they'd sell them, especially since they still make them and are standard on the ivory Superhawks, but maybe there's not a big enough demand for them.

yeah, and for that matter, i'd replace the chrome on my blacked out ASAT Deluxe too...the guitar has such a stealthy feel, even with teh G&L logo in just a white outline on the headstock....would have looked awesome with black parts!!
