Help me date/identify components of this ASAT beauty !

Post by pranx »

Hey guys!

New on the forum, quick introduction.

I picked the guitar again after a near 5+ years break. Sold all my teannage dream big gear (MIJ RG520QS Jazz/JB pickups, carvin Legacy VL100) and got myself this beautiful american Asat Classic and a tiny Tubemeister 5 from Hugues and Kettner.

Guy that sold it to me said it was a 2004, serial #: CLF10459 I got it for a used Xbox one and 450$ CAD haha. (And I play old snes songs on it these days, go figure :-)

MFD pickups, rosewood fingerboard, maple neck, and that's the only thing I can tell. And that it's sexy. And that it plays GREAT. It literally plays itself.

Thanks!

Welcome, Pranx. Your ASAT Classic's body is swamp ash, with a Natural Gloss finish. Everything looks original except the volume and tone knobs. Unless things have changed in the past 2-3 years, the knobs G&L sells in their online store should be identical to the originals.

I've owned a few ASAT Classics over the years. They have all been wonderful guitars.

I asked the Guy before buying that his volume and tone inobs didn't seem stock, from lurking here, and hé said that hé bought it this way?

Thanks for your help Ken

I sent it to the luthier to get à properly setup, rémove some fret buzz and I already Miss it :-)
