My new custom G&L Legacy arrived way early

Post by guitar1580 »

I ordered my custom G&L Legacy two and a half weeks ago. My dealer said it would take approx. 6 to 7 weeks for it to be built and delivered. So yesterday, he called and said “the eagle has landed”. What ?!? So I finished up a few things I was doing and got down there as fast as I could and picked her up. The strange thing about it all was not just that it came in so quickly, but that it came in on March 21, 2016, the 25th anniversary of the day that we lost Mr. Leo Fender. That is something that I'll always remember about this fine instrument. Thank you, Mr. Fender, and may you rest in peace.

As most of you guys know, a digital camera does not even come close to representing the actual beauty of these finishes, but here are a few quick photos. The red and transparent parts of the burst look so much better than what the camera can capture. It has a swamp ash body, 1 5/8” nut, Slim C neck, 7.5” radius, and came with a Certificate of Authenticity & spec. sheet. It looks, plays, and sounds incredible. My search for the "perfect Strat" has ended. All I can say is, I love it.

Also, a big thanks to Moore's Music Emporium in Bridgeport, Ohio for a job well done.

JT

The only thing that I found that could have been a little better was some slight sanding scratches that were perpendicular to the grain / strings that are just slightly noticeable. I figure after I change strings and oil the fretboard a few times, it will likely darken some and make them less noticable.

JT,

That's a stunning Legacy. The ash grain goes perfectly with the sunburst.

Nice Guitar!! I love it when they do the burst on both sides with this style guitar.
Kind of a sad day to get it but it will make it that much more special.
