I kind of wanted a Tele, but none of the local Lefty offerings were doing it for me... So after reading up on Leo's other company, I decided to spring for a US-made ASAT Special. It just arrived and I'm in awe. The MFD pickups are INCREDIBLE, so much versatility - it can kind of get into Tele territory, but of course it won't sound like a vintage Telecaster, but then it can do so much more. The hardware is great (Sperzel locking tuners, awesome saddle-lock bridge), the setup was fantastic out of the box (barely even had to tune the guitar after it had travelled thousands of miles to reach me!) and the overall quality is just insane. Of course, it can't quite hang with my Grosh and Kirn, but it does get close at less than half the price. So much bang for the buck. The only "downside", if you will, is that the stainless steel frets were a much heftier upcharge than at other companies, but whatever, they're worth it anyway. Big shoutout to Upfront Guitars who were a pleasure to deal with on this custom order!

Welcome fellow lefty! That special looks great! Is that the emerald blue color? I'm a fan of the less common colors G&L offers, so I'm really digging that!
