White or creme covers on white pearloid pickguard

Post by guitar1580 »

I just ordered a 3 color sunburst Legacy with white pearloid pickguard, and white covers. I'm wondering if creme covers would look good with this combination, for more of a "vintage" look. The images in the guitar generator site are too small to tell.

I've looked at photos here on the site, and haven't found that combination. If anyone has any photos of a sunburst G&L guitar with white pearl guard and creme covers, please post. Thanks.

I have a blonde S-500 with white pearloid pickguard and white pickup covers. I don't think it would look good with creme pickup covers. But taste is a very personal thing.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have a photo of your S-500?

There is a blonde legacy on ebay now with white pearl guard and creme covers, and I think it looks pretty good. That's kinda what got me thinking about it.

Plus, I have a set of white covers & knobs from another guitar that I could use if I decided I don't like the creme. At this point I'm leaning toward them.

Sorry I don't use any on-line photo storage systems that would allow me to post pictures here. My S-500 has chrome barrel knobs. If you have white knobs and pickup covers already, then you can get it however you like. I saw that Legacy on E-Bay, and personally I didn't like the creme covers. But that's the personal taste thing. If you like it go for it.

Thanks Tim. Yes, that guitar does look awesome! The binding looks really nice too. The burst, fingerboard, pickup / pickguard color combination all look spectacular. Thanks again.

Nice Tim! I had never seen your Burst Trinity. Really like the Buffalo dimes on the control knobs on both yours and Bob's. Classy!

Cream for sure. The White ones I find too stark.

Although I think I have white ones on my white pearl guard, but I like the cream ones on my aged white pearl one.

This is cool. Now I want to put a black guard on my burst ASAT classic semi solid.
