Hi guys!
I bought my left handed ASAT in 2009 in Lyon (France), and since I'm still impressed of the sound of it ! I was just wondering what was the exact model of ASAT (between ASAT and ASAT Special, I'm still confused ...).
After some research on this website , I can say that my guitar is a 1995 ASAT Special LH (Serial: G045740) with:
- 3 tone Sunburst finish
- rosewood fretboard and maple neck
- Swamp Ash body
- black crinckle saddle lock bridge
- Jumbo G&L MFD signle coil pickups
- Sperzel tuners
Am I all correct ? Both ASAT and ASAT Special were built at this time so I see no difference... Is the black bridge making any difference between ASAT and ASAT Special compared to a chrome bridge? Or any other detail? I couldn't find answers here.
I give you some pictures to show you, i'm not sure about the body wood.
Thank you for your help
Greetings from France
Geoffrey

It is an ASAT. See this post: List of Regular Production ASAT-style guitars (USA).ASAT and ASAT Special, I'm still confused ...).

The body wood is Alder. All other details in your list is correct.
Please do add your ASAT to our G&L Registry.
I think we only have one other Lefty ASAT registered in the G&L Registry.
I agree with Fumble fingers, it is a beauty!
Hope this helps.
