ASAT deluxe used in AMP review

This is a few years old but it is not often you see G&L's being used. The guitar looks and sounds great , might be a tribute. The review is only so so but the playing is half decent. It is a great amp BTW, I use mine all the time. Technology has come a long way regarding modeling .

It is a Tribute ASAT Deluxe Carved Top.

I am hoping that the Fullerton factory will be adding the Carved Tops to the USA models in the future.

I am seriously considering buying one of these amps. I would mostly use it using headphones. I've tried other modeling amps where the headphone out was utter crap. How about this one? How is the sound quality using headphones?

I use a pair of audio-technica ATH-M50's with it. Sound quality is superb. You will not regret your decision if you pick one up. keep in mind that there are two other models in the 10watt version. The C and the X. C being classic ( boutique ) and the X being high gain ( think brown sound ). I went with THR10 because it seems to be the most well rounded of them all. Although I would not rule out a 10c in the future. That being said, once you use the editor to access the " hidden " settings the sky is the limit to the type of tones you can dial in. It comes with cubase AI as well. I use it to record with Garageband and there are no issues. There are a ton of reviews and examples on you tube . It measures up. You will use it frequently.

Thanks for your quick answer. I play mostly classic or southern rock (think Skynyrd, ZZ Top, AC/DC...), some blues and some country. I was thinking the THR 10C would be the right choice. Agree?

Just an extra note: I have one of those ASAT Deluxe Tribute guitars... They are awesome considering the price...

Well, the 10C has 1. Deluxe = Fender Deluxe reverb
2. Class A = Matchless DC30
3. US Blues= Fender Blues Junior
4. Brit Blues = Marshall Blues Breaker
5. Mini = Dr Z Mini Z

Ditto glvourot's comments on these amps. Easy and fun to use. I don't have any hands-on with the C or X models but I chose the THR-10 because it is the "swiss army knife" of the group. It covers a heck of a lot of range while the other two models seem to be more narrowly defined. So, although I play mostly blues, classic rock styles if I feel like noodling with the hi-gain once in a while or pristine cleans, it is there. The acoustic input is nice too.

It will never replace my Carr Mercury for pure tone but it is so easy and fast to use, I find it gets utilized quite a bit. Fun amp!
