Can anyone help me find my G&L pickups reference ?

Post by adneo »

Hello to everyone from Belgium.

I have a 3 single coils G&L pickups set I've installed on my stratocaster. (Fender, not a G&L). They sound pretty good !
I bought that set long time ago. The man who sold it to me didn't know from wich model of G&L guitar they came from.
Could you help me find the approximative date of manufacture or reference of my pickups ? Are they US made ? China,
Indonesia or Korea made ?

The middle pickup wires are Yellow and Blue (blue one looks black on the pictures but it's really dark blue)
Thank you for your help, and best regards from Europe.

Thank you. One last question is about the colour of the bottom wich is grey on my pups.
As I tried to find similar items on the internet, most of the time G&L's pickups I've seen had black ones.
Is there a meaning about that color difference, or is that just only because production was made randomly at G&L factory with differents colors materials ?
They seem to be old (plastic covers have turned yellowish), no way to determine a year or period of manufacture by their appearance ?

These bobbins are built from gray fiberboard. This material also comes in black (like shown here. So nothing to worry about.
