NCD

Post by john o »

"all the way from memphis..." (martin music)
a 'new' 2013 comanche, redburst over ash, maple board/light neck tint/gloss, type 1 'C neck', pearloid guard...
possibly the nicest thing i've ever seen or played. wow :luv: !
of interest, the guys at martin's say this is the actual guitar that (per g&l) was photographed for the comanche gallery on the g&l website. i can see why.

Well John that one is areal looker. Martin music always seems to have a stream of good G&L's passing through. Keep us updated on how it plays and sounds.

Love the Mott The Hoople reference, one of my favorite bands. :alright:

Thx guys. I've been biding my time for the right comanche. I tried another one at GC that was used but didn't like it. The neck was like a louisville slugger and it was heavier than my LP! Decided a new one would be best. This one seems about perfect. very comfortable feel and weight, good looks (i am partial to reds), neck feels good, fret job, string alignment, DFV bridge setup all good. If anything, the neck stain uptake is a little uneven and they were a little heavy on the gloss finish of the fretboard, but with guitars there are always minor imperfections that make them unique. Tone wise, sounds great in the basement through practice amps, chock full of pickups for sure, i like the neck/middle, neck/bridge combos the best. Need to air it out through the carvin with the band. I have put them on alert! :happy0007:
