Hi all,
I used to hang around here in the days of bi-cut necks and brand new plek machines. Now I look around and everything has a bone nut ? ... the plek is working ... and bi-cut necks are gone ?
I also read that Gagnon (sp ? ) has gone on a soul-search for mojo of the alnico V , is that old news and same ole p/ups ?? .... 'cause I'm thinking a Legacy may be just what I need
Let me know.
-best,
Mike

Welcome back, Mike. It looks like times have changed, but there are still enough pre-BBE G&Ls floating around out there to keep me occupied.

Mike,
What Ken sez!
On Paul Gagon "... soul-search for mojo of the alnico V", it has not affected the Legacy yet. The CLF-100 pups on these guitars are Alnico V already. But he has designed a nice P-90 pickup used on the ASAT Junior II and ASAT Classic Bluesboy 90 models and Alnico pups used in the ASAT Classic Solamente Alnico, ASAT Classic Alnico, and ASAT Classic S Alnico models. So the stable has grown quite a bit since the last time you frequently frequented the site.

Is it okay if all of mine have such anachronistic features as crinkle paint and three bolt necks? Did the Whippersnapper ever make it to market? How were those rebranded Corts received? Did the GLDPLE v2.0 ever come to pass? Will the Cowboys ever make it back to the Super Bowl before Romo retires? Am I getting old?

It's better if you have some chrome three-bolt neck plates and flat black hardware in the mix!kakerlak wrote:Is it okay if all of mine have such anachronistic features as crinkle paint and three bolt necks?

Re: Bring me up-to-date ...
Everything that is made in the USA and new from G&L does not have a bi-cut neck and every new guitar and bass is now coming Plekked from the factory.Hi all,

Tribute guitars and basses are made in Indonesia, still have USA pickups (AFAIK), and are not bi cut.
The new necks have separate fingerboards and better truss rods.
Everybody correct me if I am wrong. I have been away for along time.
Thanks,
bassman Bill

Re: Bring me up-to-date ...
I think I saw a Legacy with a USA Fender style bridge on ebay that was built for the Japanese market. Not sure if that's legit or not. I wonder if Yamato has a couple dozen of those?
It seems there are a few of us who need to get up to date!
