g@l dual fulcrum tremolo

Post by vaughn44 »

Hello I am new to the forum and new to G@l. I bought a new old stock 2011 legacy left handed. Still has the plastic on pickguard.
It is a Lefty. Is it possible G@L used the tribute tremolo on mine as the saddles look the same as the tribute?

I have the build sheet it is made in the USA. Image

The G&L Tribute Series Legacy bridge has die-cast saddles, instead of the machined billet brass saddles on the G&L USA Legacy DF Vibrato bridge.
The saddles on both are chrome plated and that is why they look the same.
I am quite sure that your saddles are the USA saddles.

Hope this helps.

Please add your Legacy HB to our G&L Registry.

Thanks) No the headstock isn't painted. I think a Maple fret board would look better, but I only like rosewood for the warmth.
I still think the tremolo might be a tribute model. I got a magnet and it sticks to the saddles. And the tremolo block is shinny like what I see on the tribute model.

I am still getting used to playing it but so far I like it. It had horrible high action when I got it. I had to end up putting a small shim in the neck pocket to get the action low enough. It has a great finish very shinny.

Not sure but I think the Chrome metal plating might be magnetic. The trem blocks on both Tributes and USA DF bridges are also chrome plated.
So again, the appearance is the same but they use different metals: Brass for USA and Zinc for Tributes.

Here's some posts which might be helpful regarding the bridges:

What is the '05 to '06 Bridge and Trem arm differences?
Re: Are the new ASAT Special Bridges made in the USA?
DF Vibrato System vs. DFS Vibrato System

Hope this helps.
