Here's my idea:
neck: s-500
middle: s-500
bridge: Seymour Duncan Custom-5 trembucker
I'll wire it similar to G&L PTB style.
Already had the humbucker, and I just scored 3xMFD single coils from the bay for cheap so this project has traction.. I think I just need a neck.
Anyone done this before? My google-fu fails to find any examples.
RFC: MFDs plus a humbucker?

G&L did, see: 2010 S-500 HB Trio Special Build.bloodied_fingers wrote:Here's my idea:

Looking forward to seeing your project documented here.

Thanks for the link Craig. Any idea if they swapped any circuit components around?

I am fairly certain that the expander mini-toggle switch was changed to a coil-splitter for the bridge humbucker. I don't know if therebloodied_fingers wrote:Thanks for the link Craig. Any idea if they swapped any circuit components around?
was any other circuit changes, though.

Re: RFC: MFDs plus a humbucker?
cool, thanks.
I just need to find a neck and now some black s-500 mfd covers.. might be even more rare than finding the s500 pickups on the 'bay. On principle I'm not going to pay $23 for two black s-500 pickup covers. Like seriously, who priced those things? $10 for an $0.50 injection molded part? Even FMIC only charges $10 for a set of theirs...
I wonder is anyone has some black covers they want to sell or swap?
