Need help with G&L Legacy 1996

Post by Pivchansky »

Hi there, guys!

Recently bought an G&L Legacy guitar s/n g031572. Seller said it was build in 1996, but there is no any documentation came along with the guitar. I'm going to bring it to technician for nut replacement, and general setting up. I thought may be you guys could help me with the info on original settings for guitars build in 96? I've found an owner's manual, but I want to be sure that it is right one.

Thanks!

Hi Pivcjansky,

You can use this User's guide in the gallery. It is valid for instruments between 1988 and 2009. Good luck and enjoy your G&L.

one thing for sure is that it should have a three bolt neck , NOT four bolts ...... taking the neck off should show production dates

Does anyone did replacement of a nut? I wanted to replace it with Graphteck TUSQ PQ-5000-00 (Fender Style Slotted). At the paper dimensions looked similar. But in fact it is creates significant difference between E-E distances.

I know what GL installs Graphteck nuts on some of their guitars, is there some info on dimensions they use or ordering codes?

I emailed Spencer Brown at the factory about getting some information on Graph-Tec nuts. I posted his reply as an update to this post in the Knowledgebase: Are G&L nuts curved or flat on the bottom?.

You might check out Graph-Tec's website. Here's a link on the nuts G&L uses for their optional nuts:http://www.graphtech.com/products/brand ... uitar-nuts.
They have a section on how to measure your nut.

Hope this helps.
