You folks have shown some fine families. The lighting on your wall is outstanding Scott. I know that SPG has some beautiful lefties and we saw the Jos family a little over a month ago. Some real keepers here.

We had new carpeting installed 2 weeks ago and had to move everything out. It gave us a chance to reorganize a bit and I added some hangers. This is most of our family without the acoustics. I added a partial 3 rd row of hangars so I can expand a bit if needed. Here is the newly reorganized mess.

The lowenders are in the corner rack in the top photo and here is the Mary Kaye reissue. -- Darwin

That Invader is gorgeous. My first G&L was an Invader Tribute which I liked so much I flipped to get my first Legacy USA. It looks positioned like you play it a lot.

On the last picture you posted, the guitar on the right (Legacy or S500), what finish is that? It looks sort of tobacco. It looks really sharp.

Honeyburst Legacy ,the first custom order new guitar I ever bought , seemed like it took forever to get here , there is a S500 in white (looks yellow in person) in the rack behind the Legacy

I met Johnny in Wheaton Maryland when he was demonstrating this guitar. I got there
about 30 minutes ahead of the workshop and he's standing outside on the sidewalk by
himself so I got a chance to talk to him. Really nice guy.

I wish I had bought his guitar that day. It's the only PRS model I would want to own because
of the maple neck.

jwebsmall, That is the reason I bought it. Maple wide/thin neck and it works very well for me. I saw Johnny at the MN state fair a couple of years ago and he was playing an EB Musicman. He is very talented. -- Darwin

I was curious about that PRS, too. Bolt-on maple necks are not their typical feature. Never heard of Johnny Hiland, though.
Family pics will be updated soon from my side, my G&L herd has grown by two new members (never thought that the saying 'you cannot have only one G&L' would be that true), and there's a bunch of other guitars

Yes the Johnny Hiland is the only PRS I would seriously consider buying.

The Brent Mason PRS isn't bad though.

I had a standard 22 PRS for a while but I had a love / hate relationship with
it and so I finally flipped it.

Hi,
Wanted to share a (crappy) pic of the stage after our show this weekend, four G&Ls did have a good time there

(right click to expand to full size)

On the right, L-2000 Tribute fueling a Fender Super Bassman + 4x10" + 1x18" SWR stack, defintely oversized but nice for look and feel. You can surely imagine the thunderous blasts of superb tube bass sound it was capable of.

On the floor the main guitarist's superb Fender Strat. His half-stack on the right is a classic, early 50W JCM800 into 1960AV.

My rig is on the left, I was eager to try how my new Tributes (ASAT Special and S-500) would suit me... and they did very fine. I ended up playing the Special the whole set as it felt comfortable to play though being very solid, and the MFD's a just plain amazing.

The S-500 I like use sometimes when I feel a tremolo is more comfortable to play than bending the neck all the time, and for an overall more Strat-like tone&feel of course... well, playing the ASAT was so much fun that night I opted to not change guitars between songs.

Main amp was the Fuchs Fullhouse 50 (combo, modded for lower power and actually feeding my 1960A cab), the Jet-City 100H was backup. Signal chain was minimal: guitar -> tuner -> amp.

And the fourth G&L? If you look hard you can spot another guitar neck in the dark, left of the Fuchs.It belongs to my US Invader which served as backup. I was so tempted to play her because she's ergonomical godess and a beauty but again the pickups coudn't compete against the big MFDs with their clarity and power.

The Tribute guitars and basses again proved that they are excellent and dependable instruments, though I'm admitedly biased here, being a G&L fan. The band played great (riff-heavy post rock sort of stuff) and we hat a lot of fun an got good comments on the sound.

Great looking stage photo.

The first G&L I played was an Invader. Loved it.

Then a month or too later played a tribute ASAT special and it nearly blew my socks off, the MFDs.

I'm thinking about getting a second G&L and you've got me thinking back to that ASAT special.

hey George, great rigs and axes. I have been loving the versatility of my trib asat special as well.
what's your set list like, are you playing classic rock covers, or originals?
Do you do anything by Rammstein? I like Sehnsucht from '98, especially "Tier".

Thanks! I just got the Emerald Blue Metallic Legacy, it's a 1994 3 bolt. I got the frets dressed and polished it up some. Both of the ASAT's are Tributes but the Legacies and the S-500 are USA models.

My favorite one is whichever one I am playing at the time.

I keep four out and rotate guitars every month , my Fallout never gets put away , the rest get rotated , that's how I do it .... not sure how Jos and Darwin do it ??...lol .... they have way way way more than I have

Ok, this was in my intro post about six months ago but I think it belongs here, Unfortunately I had a water leak above the studio so all of them are cased up for awhile until I do some restoration work on the house. Happy new year everyone.

Twin brothers (ASAT Special Tribute):

It's the first time in life that I have two truly identical guitars, by specification, also from almost identical build dates (Summer 2014)
Still, there are differences. The left one -- my latest purchase, a used guitar for a truly ridiculous price, including SKB case -- has a brighter finish, the mahogany seems to be different color. Further, it is quite a bit lighter. Necks are very similar but on the right one the headstock thickness is significantly less than on the other. So much for CNC manufacturing precision...
Acoustically, the left one is more resonant and has less sparkle (same strings and same setup, of course), while the darker one has apparently a bit more sustain.
On the amp, the differences are less pronounced but still there, albeit irrelevant in practice. They both sound absolutely amazing.

George, they look great. Better they are unique than identical. The one on the right looks alot like mine, which is a 2014 as well. I ordered the tobacco sunburst and it came as a surprise 3 tone sunburst. Agree re: the sound. Lovin the pups.

it is a sandy gold, it has a real fine flake to it. rio grande pick ups, early 90s model, this was my first g&l.

Eric, many of mine go into studs but I also use the drywall anchors (plastic screw in) with the same results. I have been using hangers for more than 7 years and wouldn't do any thing differently.-- Darwin

Eric, I installed my wall mounts directly to the studs. I just felt better knowing they were mounted to something solid. I just didn't want to risk it.
