I trimmed that wart off my Legacy headstock. It was ruining the lines and harshing my mellow...

Your photo was WAY TOO BIG in the Gallery and that is why it did not show. You also left off the left bracket ('['} in the /img BBCode in your post, which is another
reason why it would not show. it appears that you did not do a Preview before posting.

So, I resized your photo for you and replaced the original with this resized version:

How about showing us the rest of this guitar? And what was your reasoning for buying this guitar in the first place?

Why didn't you just buy brand "f" if it bothered you that much? Not sure it was worth the effort. Oh well...

I never got the whole "G&L headstocks are ugly" thing. I do prefer the old paddle and sickle headstocks to the hook, though. I also think the hook looks better on an ASAT headstock than on the more Fender-esque headstock on a Legacy.

When I put up my G&L wall last year, the first arrangement had a row of nine basses and guitars built between 1980 and 1986, all with paddle headstocks. A neighbor who has worked at very high levels in guitar and bass marketing came over to see it. His immediate reaction to seeing paddle headstocks for the first time was to ask why G&L ever went away from such a nice design.

+1, I think they're Epic. Having said that I'm referring to the ones with the Tit… I dig the early paddle headstocks that were on the first run on F-100's over the SC series… I find the latter much less appealing aesthetically. I heard rumours regarding Fender contacting G&L and threatening legal action as they felt the F-100's shape was too close to the big headstock of late 60's & 70's Strats… can anyone substantiate or clarify??

I actually really dig the hook, wart, or tit - whatever you want to call it. The ASAT headstock is a real beauty if you ask me. I think it's one of the nicest, most distinctive six a side designs out there.

But hey, whatever floats your boat....
