NGD: 95-97? ASAT

Post by logical_proof »

Hey guys I just picked up this ASAT locally for way less than I should have been able to buy it for.
Looks a lot like the Detroit Muscle Coral Red color. Not really sure what year it is but it has one of those B serial number nameplates (B053xxx)

Really cool figuring on the neck

Here is a shot with my 1986 ASAT that I also just got as well as my 2012 Bluesboy that I have never posted.

Plays really well, has a very different personality than the '86.
I thought the neck was quartersawn but I am not sure. Can anyone chime in on that? Also is this just fiesta red or something else?

That is a killer! Come on that thing is beautiful. Sprinter has a red Asat also that is sweet.

Nice grab,

Very nice ASAT! It is always a great day when you can get a new ASAT
for way less than I should have been able to buy it for.

Nice Asat! As y2kc stated, red Asat's are rare. Here's my '87 Asat. Mine is Rampage Red and was ordered by Dale Hyatt for the 1987 NAMM show in New Orleans.

Sam: indeed it is always a good day when you get a new to you ASAT

Sprinter: That '87 is gorgeous. Makes me like the one I bought even more.

I played it in church today and it was a blast. Got it home rocked it into my AC15 turned up the gain and it sounded like I had a tube screamer plugged in.
I am noticing that these MFD's are hotter than the ones in the '86 also very different than my '99 S-500. I originally bought both the '86 and the red ASAT to flip
but I will probably be keeping them both.
