"a few loose screws"

Post by john o »

I recently splurged and purchased 6 little screws from the G&L online store for the saddle lock bridge, or the vibrato bar of the DF bridge. These are the metric ones that fit usa 2006 and newer, also the tribute series guitars. I now have a surplus. If anyone is in need of one or two of these, let me know and we'll set that up through private email. regards, john o

I tried to buy some of those screws about six months ago for the saddle lock bridge on my ASAT . I ended up buying some from a hardware store because I couldn't access a shipping option for less than 25 dollars from the online store. It ended up ok because the screws are black ( matches the bridge ) and I paid 80 cents for 5 of them. But I am glad you were able to use the store for your purchase.

wow, 80 cents, great deal for the right screws! What did you use for the little plastic bushings that go in the hole before the screw?

Alas, that is the rub. I don't have any nylon bushings for the screws. I only needed one for the saddle lock bridge . Out of principle I will not pay 30.95 = 39.42 Canadian . Thats the total with 25$ US shipping.

last night i was at a band rehearsal. we practice in a vacant strip mall store with old ratty carpet.
we were somewhere in the middle of badfinger's "no matter what", and i was looking down at the floor, a gleam of metallic caught my eye.
after the song i got down on the carpet and explored, found my original screw for the saddle lock bridge! i thought my guitar was delivered without one. must have been loose and fell out the 1st time i took the asat to rehearsal. about a foot away was the little plastic bushing!
i'll send you one of the plastic bushings if you'd like. i'll PMail you

Yeah, if you take the guitar out of the case upon delivery without tightening the saddle-lock this will indeed happen. ~P
