legacy tone control pot acting as a volume

Post by alanhoggard »

my legacy's tone control pot (bass roll off) is acting as a volume control, it does not change the tone at all, just turns down the volume. all the way down and volume is off.

Any ideas?

Need more information about this ...

Do the other controls work as expected?
Was it working correctly when you first got the guitar?
Were there any mods or replacements done to the wiring and/or controls?
Was it bought new from a G&L dealer?
What model Legacy is it?
Can you post photos of the controls and wiring?

Check the Gallery: Album: Instrument Manuals and Wiring Schematics to see if
the wiring and controls match your guitar's wiring and controls.
