Hello,
I've got my first G&L Legacy on its way to me - with any luck, I'm hoping that I'll receive the delivery by the end of the week.
I bought this guitar new - though I did not custom order it. I happened to find a retailer in the Pacific North-West that had a special run (with each Legacy show-casing a different G&L neck) and this one matched all of the key specs that are important to me.
This will be the perfect Legacy for me - aside from one small cosmetic change that I'd like to make.
The Legacy is Graphite Metallic with a Satin Frost top coat. Dark Rosewood Fretboard. Clear Satin Neck Finish.
The plastics are all 1-ply black.
I think that I'd like to change the pickguard to a 3-ply variant - but I'm not sure what to order:
- Parchment/Black/Parchment
- Mint/Black/Mint
- Cream/Black/Cream
- White/Black/White
I'm really torn between Parchment and Mint for the pickguard (I worry that cream could be too 'yellow' and I think that white would look too stark).
So, which pickguard would you put on my Graphite Metallic Legacy?
And, which knobs?
Thanks!
Ryan

They are 3-ply cream guard, cream covers and knobs. BTW, the caption on the facebook photo says 2-ply cream guard.
I like the look you are after.

Re: G&L Legacy - Pickguard Color Options
Thanks for the response Craig - much appreciated!
I didn't even think to look at the comments when I found those pictures. D'oh! To me, that looks like a nice example of cream (I've seen some awfully yellow-looking cream-colored plastics out there though).
I'm also curious to see the black plastics in person. I think that it will look quite sharp as well - and I do like the look - but when I found the picture with the cream plastics on Graphite Metallic...I was enamoured.
I assume, if I'm inclined to make a change, that Pickguard Heaven would be where you'd refer me?
Thanks!

That is a sharp looking Legacy Ryan! I agree that the cream will look good.

You are welcome. Yes, Pickguard Heaven (Chandler) would be my first choice since they supply the G&L USA model pickguards.RYAN1987M wrote:Thanks for the response Craig - much appreciated!

However, there are other sources, too - see: Pickguard replacement.
