Is this Ash or Alder?

I just bought this on Reverb but haven't received it yet. By the grain, I'm thinking its Ash, can anyone tell for sure?

You are going to need to see an unfinished section of the body, either the neck pocket or under the jack plate. If the bare wood is a whiteish color, then
it's Swamp Ash. If it's a reddish color, then it's Alder.

Here is a picture of some unfinished bodies from the factory:



In the foreground stack, the top body is Swamp Ash and the bodies below it are Alder.

What is the serial number of this guitar and does it have a serial number plate? If there is a serial number plate, there should be
the Custom Specifications Sheet with the COA and it will indicate the body wood. If the serial number is the older style waterslide,
I might be able to find out the specifications from the factory.

Thanks Craig, I'll pull the neck once it gets here, hopefully by Friday. I'll have the s/n today. Its got the older molded case so I'm thinking its '01-'09 or so.
Its got the chunky V blending into a C profile neck, hard to find, I love that feel. Whatever it is, should be sweet.

And....its alder with the biggest neck I've ever played on a G&L. 1 11/16" V to C. I can't even find this neck on the website, but I'm liking it
