pre order specs

Post by Chuckboots »

Hi, since falling for this Asat Classic I want to get a Bluesboy in a similiar spec. Is it possible to determine specification from the serial number? Its CLF18311.
I'd like to know if its semi hollow and ash or alder. Its a red swirl so cant see the wood....apart from the natural binding.

Oh and how come I missed out on the metric/imperial jack issue...I thought the socket was on the way out until I used a different lead...with a true 1/4 inch jack and problem solved.

Easiest way to tell if it is a semi-hollow with the F-hole delete is to unscrew the control plate and have a look inside. If it's hollow, it's a semi-hollow body. And if it's a semi-hollow body, it's an ash body.

Thanks Case, its a solid body....wish I'd thought of that :o)

Love your ASAT...I wish they did a tortiseshell guard that colour now....the new ones are a bit too dark for my liking.

Thanks Chuck. It was a small run they did in 2004. There are two other ones in the registry that seem to be identical that year. It's a semi-hollow with a maple top and F-hole delete. I wish I knew what the total production was. Craig and Dave were a great help in digging up the info for me.
