G&L Lover in Texas says hello

Post by candleman »

Hi Folks,

Just logged on to the forum for the first time. Someone told me you have a marketplace so I posted a WTB ad in there for a replacement to a guitar I lost due to hard times last year.

Currently living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Been playing guitar professionally and as a hobby since 1975. I love blues and jazz, and probably played cover tunes in the '70s they now call "Classic Rock". Mostly a blues guy these days. Most recent happy guitar tool was a FREE TC Electronic Ditto X2 Looper. Like having a rhythm guitar player at your footstep, LOL.

Got it free by buying 3 regular TC pedals through a rebate they had around Christmas time.

Been a tried and true G&L lover for years. My first buy was a G&L Broadcaster when they were knew in the stores (1980-something)... Love the fit, finish, feel... and always great tone. Way better quality than the F guitars. (you know who I mean, haha.)

Thanks for reading, have a blessed day.

Saw the other post which negates my comment about pics. I'm sure you will find an ASAT in no time, many here to help ya locate one. Glad to see it looks like things are on the upswing. Jump in often

Welcome Candleman! Good luck with the hunt for a new ASAT. Good deals are still out there, so it shouldn't take long to find something good.

Sorry, I don't have the Broadcaster anymore. One of the stupidest things I did years ago was sell her at a guitar show. Back then I had no idea how valuable that model would be.

I had one of the models with an ebony fretborad. Everything on it was black. I had all the case candy, etc, too. She was in mint shape when I sold her for $700 at the guitar show in the 1990s. Back then I was thinking "hahaha... that guy gave me almost what I paid for that guitar"... duhhhhhhhh. He knew what he was doing, I did not.
