Steel Wool in pickups

Post by WOngio123 »

I accidentally got steel wool bits into the pickups of my bluesboy semi-hollow tribute, there is now a fuzz sound and the guitar sounds tonally weaker. Is my only option now to just replace bothe pickups.

I would rec. that you take some painter's tape ( Blue masking tape) and use that to remove as many filings from the pickups.
Then try a magnet to get the rest.

Good luck with this.
