Hi All,
Can anyone compare them to other pickups, such as Seymour Duncans, so I can have a frame of reference? Are they closer to Broadcaster than Bakersfield, or vice versa?

Re: ASAT Classic Alnico Pickups
The G&L Classic Alnico pups are more Bakersfield than Broadcaster for sure. Closer to the 'usual' telecaster but still not as ice-picket as the standard Tele pups, especially in the bridge. I would say they are beautifully voiced and would appeal to any Tele-player. For comparison, I have a 2004 JD-5 with some SD Jerry Donahue pups in there and they definitely retain more of the higher part of the sonic spectrum compared to the G&L pups. I also have "Port&Chocolate", a Bluesboy with a DiMarzio Area Hot T bridge pup which is voiced somewhat similar as the G&L Classic Alnico bridge pup, mainly due to it being hum-cancelling.
If you want to get close to the traditional Tele while still being 100% G&L, the Classic Alnico is the way to go. Just my opinion.
Hope this helps,
- Jos
