Thrift Shop Discovery

Post by Death2Silence »

Hey guys! I've been playing around with guitars off and on for the last few years. Planning to start taking lessons in the next month. Now on to how I was introduced to G&L guitars.

I was browsing a thrift shop Saturday before last and came across a G&L Rampage that looks to have definitely been played a lot. I briefly looked it over, but had never heard of G&L guitars so I passed on it. Later that evening I began to think about the guitar I had seen that day, and started researching. Needless to say I was back at the shop that Monday and walked out the proud new owner of a Rampage. :D

I have kind of fallen in love with the worn look of this guitar. The previous owner was a lefty so the guitar has a strap pin installed on the lower horn. There are three what look to be burn marks on the front of it from cigarettes or possibly pyrotechnics (local music store suggested). It also has its share of chips and buckle rash. The plans for it are to find out why the volume knob doesn't work, fix the output jack( have to pull the input out slightly to work), and keep it in the as is state. Oh, my research has revealed it was made in 1985. Here are the pics of it http://imgur.com/a/zrW3a.

Congratulations! That Rampage was an incredible find. It looks like it still has the original pickup, so getting it back to the original configuration should be a snap.
