The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.

Help with identificatiom

Post by pib14 »

I recently inherited my father's G&L. My brother and I have been trying to figure out exactly what it is and what year it was made. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is an ASAT, which is the only marking on the headstock. It is a leftie and has three pickups. I believe it was an early 90's model. The serial number is: 6051768 as marked on the back of the neck. I don't know what kind of wood the body is, but it is a blonde color with the wood grain visible through the finish. Again, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul

The dates are in the neck pocket, though if you search the registry for serials close to yours
(G051768), you'll see alot of 1996/97 guitars . An ASAT with 3 single coils (ASAT lll) aren't common, especially as a lefty. Pics will help figure out the bodywood.

Thank you all for the input. I will be back to post some pictures once I get it back from the shop. Unfortunately, I'm a righty and had to have the nut flipped so that I can actually play it. For giggles, does anyone have an idea on the price range of these? I don't plan to sell, but I am curious. Thanks again.
