Round plugs in back of headstock

Post by guitar1580 »

Has anyone else noticed these small round plugs in the back of your headstock? I have these two, one up
between the B and G tuner, and one below the E tuner. It's on a 1983.

I know pins are used for repairs, but they'd be larger than these I'd think, and there are no repairs, cracks, or refinish showing. Maybe they're used to fill in a flaw in the wood? Didn't notice them at first, but a little puzzling. Thanks,

JT

Ahhh, thank you very much. Makes sense. Had me perplexed there for a little while.
