I've been wondering about that graphite color. In the picture, it looks kinda purple like. Do you have any other pictures of it, or can you comment on the true coloring of it?

It's the florescent lighting in the factory which causes the purplish look and Dave uses his iPhone camera to take the photos. BTW, most metallic finishes are difficult to capture the actual coloring with artifical lighting.
If you can, see this finish in person, in natural light. Of course, on stage lighting can definitely affect the look, too. ;)

We do have some other photos of this finish here (some of them with the Frost Satin optional top coat). Try the Search feature and use "Graphite +Metallic" as the keyword string.
Also, check G&L's Instagram website for more examples, too.

Hope this helps.

They are all incredibly beautiful.

This thread should carry a warning: GAS contagion area.

Is the Whiskey finish related to the Root Beer Metallic like on this legacy on the prototypes page?

I really like the Whiskey, but I've just worked out why - it looks like natural Mahogany, which I've always liked. Oddly that puts me off it, because if I were to get a guitar that colour, it would be because it was Mahogany :confused0077:
They are all giving me GAS though

I don't think so. Whiskey is a semi-transparent finish and it came out first in 2009 as a custom finish for the Jerry Cantrell Signature Rampage.
The prototype with Root Beer Metallic finish was built in 2012:
Special Features: We are always exploring new colors to add to the line, and the idea for Root Beer finish came up in discussion.
We decided to blend a nice shade of brown metallic that we thought best represented Root Beer, a name we’d already taken to (maybe we
were thirsty), and spray up a hardtail body we had handy in the wood shop. We liked it enough to go ahead and build this Legacy with a
3-ply Black/White/Black pickguard, Black pickup covers and knobs to let the Root Beer metallic finish take center stage. We haven't decided
whether we will add this to the line, but we're ready to let this gorgeous Legacy out into the world.
Perhaps it's the other way around, with Root Beer Metallic being related to Whiskey finish.

The root beer metallic finish is beautiful.

Leo's other company is doing a MLB (Major League Baseball) series S guitar.

G&L has the SS Detroit Muscle series which are beautiful. My favorite is Hugger Orange.

Any thoughts about a graphic design on the finish. Maybe I'm the only one to like several
of the MLB series graphics?
