New to me, used G&L Legacy USA

Post by jwebsmall »

Craig asked Dave and he said it was shipped new from the factory on April 12, 1999.

Bought it a week ago at my local Guitar Center. It was missing the trem arm and one
tone knob was busted. Received new trem arm and knob yesterday from G&L Online Store
and just finished installing.

I had gone to the store to look at various models from Leo's first company. I was going to buy
one next year and hadn't decided which one yet. I saw this G&L and tried it out. I didn't let it out
of my hand and bought it on the spot.

The guitar plays and sounds tremendous. I haven't tuned it since I brought it home. Incredible
because it is set up with floating trem with only two springs and I've played it at least a hour a day.
The intonation is spot on too. I can play chords above the 12th fret and they are in tune.

Never played a high gloss neck before. Didn't think I would like it but it is super fast and I can do
slides and bends that I never did on my rosewood fingerboard SSS guitar before.

It came with the original G&L hardshell case which is 1/2" shorter than the hard shell case
for my MM Luke III guitar. Very surprising.

The black finish is so highly polished you can see the outside wall of my apartment in the trem
block photo.

And the deal was even sweeter since it was half the price of the new USA strat I was looking at.

This guitar must have been kept in the closet or under the bed. I couldn't find any wear on
the frets. As good as brand new after I got the trem arm and knob.
