I must admit that I am a fan of high gloss finish necks. Today while cleaning my M-2500 i was surprised to see how the satin neck has turned to high gloss from gigging. I purchased this Tribute the first of February this year and you can see how the neck has glossed up beautifully from playing. I wish G&L would at least use high gloss on all the headstocks. So this bass is getting better with use! -- Darwin

Gloss headstock face is a new option for the USA models. See Current US Neck Finishes & Other Neck Options.darwinohm wrote:I must admit that I am a fan of high gloss finish necks. Hope this helps.

Hey Darwin,
I have had this happen with both of my Ovations. The high use has given a nice gloss to the necks now. Reminds me of these unfinished wooden barristers especially on staircases you might frequently find in parks where all the hand movements along the wood has given it a shiny luster.
