step-sisters

Post by john o »

After applying some negotiation, persuasion, and other covert techniques on Mrs. Claus, I have attained pre-incarnation access to my recent aquisition that was intended for Christmas, namely the trib ASAT special. I have been playing it thru a prax amp and comparing it to my seasoned and gig-worthy Tele.

I find the ASAT to be: more resonant, improved frequency range of pups (esp the neck pup), a little lighter, and different neck feel - to my liking. Also, the med-jumbo frets and 9" radius are very comfortable.
I did have to relax the truss rod a tad, and am waiting for neck to relieve.
Tele advantages: better string action. 18 yrs of experience, sounds like a tele.
Both are good looking in their own right.
I will be playing with the band on sun 9/21, and have a chance to see how it really sounds thru a good amp with some volume/overdrive, etc.
