The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.
Brand new USA Fallout on the left, Epi Dot Reissue on the right. In the real world, the Epi is a brighter taxi cab yellow, the Fallout has a bit of banana or cream in the color.
The Fallout is a pleasant weight & feels good. Now I just have to play it.
Sweet !! .. is that Daytona Yellow ?? ... I sure like my Fallout ... works perfect for what I use it for , light weight and well balanced makes it easy to play 3 hours straight
The 'bucker in the Fallout is a Duncan JB, splittable. The Epi I pulled out the stock pups, and I put in the Duncan Jazz/JB pair. The Epi is quite nice too, now.
One month later, I still really like the Fallout. I like the weight, I like the way it feels.
The only (very minor) issue I have is with the tuners. I can not string it with 13-56's so I can tune it to open G. The hole in the split top tuner is too small for the .056" string. I can deal with this.
I also highly recommend you all get one, while you can
I'm still love'n mine too !! ..... for all the reasons you mentioned plus the SD and P90 works good in the heavy metal band I play in .... My dealer ordered locking tuners the day after he ordered the Fallout and had them installed before I picked it up , all less than one week , you can't buy that fast on the internet .....
Metalmechanic wrote:I believe the locking tuners G&L use on their guitars are Schaller, but I don't know the model number. Something like M6 Locking pin.
