Great Pic's and a surprise to me because I have no idea what model G&L's they are. In my life, thus far, I've only owned one G&L and the second of recent, the Classic.
I've always been a Fender man and a collector of Harmony Guitars, so I've got a lot of catching up to do.

You guys are major G&L buff's and I'm a newbie of sort, what are they ???????????????

the first one is a ... 2014 SS Muscle Car Series Fallout .... in Hugger Orange color , I had the dealer install locking tuners and I received this amazing instrument with in 5 days from ordering it ,this is the fastest I have ever received a new G&L from ordering it

the second guitar is a ... 2013 SC 2 ... with the DF (dual fulcrum vibrato) in Ruby Red with matching headstock , this is the second ever new G&L , the BIG MFD sound is the greatest !! .. I ordered it from my local G&L dealer Centerville Music

the third is a .... 2014 LE 2 .... witch was designed on this forum with the help of Forum members , mine is number 7 of 25 built and one of the very first ones made , I specified Locking Tuners , gragh Tech nut and the DFS ( witch is a dual fulcrum that's upgraded over stock DF ) and so far the only LE 2 in Clear Blue , very nice instrument that I hate to take out of the case for very long so it's a closet queen ( hence the "first time these three ever been together " for the photo shoot )

Hey Jim , a ASAT Special (big MFD's pick ups like my SC 2 ) should probably be your next guitar , the big MFD's in the ASAT Special are every bit as Heavenly as the ASAT Classic that we all love ..... IMHO those are two best sounding G&L's ever made

Really nice collection there! I've never played a Fallout/SC-2 body style. I'm like Jim in that I've only played the ASAT Classic. I'm really interested in the SC-2 with the large MFD pickups and its contoured back and a saddle lock bridge. I like the clean lines of the no pick-guard body.

I need a few more saddle lock bridge guitars my self , my Broadcaster (closet king ) was my first then my Fallout , thinking about ordering a Black SC 2 with natural binding , cream covers , quarter sawn neck , vintage tint satin maple neck with saddle lock bridge and locking tuners .... or .... a ASAT Special Deluxe (no pg model) with the same color and options ... but will probably get a SC 2 due to the light weight (this will be gigged) .... the band I'm in , switches tuning in the middle of a set twice and the DF guitars are PIA to retune in a hurry and I love the Big MFD's regardless what amp I'm using at the time

Great ensemble Fumble! I really love the Clear Blue LE-2. Just play it man. Every time I gig it is a horse race between my WR Z-3 and the LE-2. I need to get myself a Fallout. They look like too much fun to be missing out on!

I know exactly why you got those guitars - I have and SC2 (mahogany with DF bridge) and a Fallout ('burst with binding and saddlelock) myself.
The shape and weight are so comfortable with no compromise on tone with a heavier guitar and I switch between them depending on song requirements and mood.

That SC-2 is identical to the one I would order!! I've looked at that guitar many times.

Eric thanks for the update, a lot to learn and very difficult since there's not a G&L dealer within a hundred or so miles of my now country home. In Nashville all those years we only used Gipson's(not me) and fenders (me).
G&L to my knowledge never had a rep come by any of the studio's I work in and I never heard of a clinit.
I'll look into the SC2. Your guitar was the first major purchase without playing it first.

G&L is one company that it really doesn't matter buying before trying .... I have 6 new ones all bought before trying , all are perfect , just like the used G&L's I own , bought all my used except 98 Classic , Comanche and Rampage with out playing first , no disappointments .... the SC 2 is fairly inexpensive guitar for a new USA G&L , light and comfortable !!..... Seattle The Guitar Store is great place to deal with (both of my sparkle ASAT came from him) ..... Bob at Music Source near Chicago Illinois is good to deal with (the LE2's are from there exclusively ) .... and my local dealer Centerville Music would be good to deal with too as I have never seen a internet guitar sell for less than what he does direct

That SC-2 is identical to the one I would order!! I've looked at that guitar many times.

I think we've all stared at that guitar a number of times. It is sweet, no doubt!

That is a fine representation of modern SC-2 style. My SC-2 is a daily player I love it. Finally got a decent cable so the hum in the bridge and neck position is now barely noticeable . It will be a fine day when I order a Fallout. You have a great collection fumble !

Before the Fallout .... I was practicing with the band and taking two guitars (Fallout is the only one that's been gigged so far ) ,So I was taking my SC2 and S500 and have one tuned 1/2 step down from standard , the other tuned drop D on top of the half step down , so it's like drop C# .... I really liked the SC 2 for weight (S500 is comfy too ) but trying to do Drop D all ready a half step down was messing with the trem tension and effecting all strings so 1 DF guitar was not going to cut it while trying to keep gear at a minimum and THATS when the Hugger Orange Fallout came into play .... wish I had a saddle lock SC2 ...... Now I'm using a Peavy 6505 plus 1x12 combo amp and the SC2 sounds great with it , the Fallout does too but I kinda like the Big MFD's , either way another saddlelock guitar with big MFD's ( SC 2) might also make me quit thinking about re-fretting my Broadcaster for now

how much of a difference do you notice between the tone of the MFD pups on the s-500, compared to that of the MFD's on the SC-2?

to my ears the S 500 is close to a Legacy but a deeper sound , it's still a strat tone just a little deeper

the SC 2 is close to a early ASAT mid 80's .... just did the side by side with my Fender twin reverb and was surprised how close the sound of my SC is to my Broadcaster , the bcaster sounds better , the same difference as using a BBE Sonic Stomp on a amp , the sonic stomp makes every amp I have sound a little better .... so sound between those two are like ... my Broadcaster sounds like it has the Sonic Stomp "on" even though it isn't , just sounds like you took a blanket off your amp , not a big difference but the broadcaster sounds a little better and clearer

as far as the SC 2 compared to a S 500 , the big MFD's have a much fuller sound , with both big MFD's pick ups on the middle position it does get a little stratty sound wise but not great , but the S500 can't make the the Big MFD sound , the tone just sounds so full with the big MFD's ..... to me the ASAT Classic and SC 2/ASAT Special compliment each other real nice and are probably my favorite two sounds/pick up combo's of all G&L's I have played with

as far as Metal goes , witch is what the Band I'm in plays , my Fallout , LE 2 ,Rampage EMG , ASAT Deluxe and Cavalier all seem to do Metal pretty good , the Humbuckers distort easier than the single coils , my favorite would have to be the Fallout with saddle lock and probably 50/50 because of the saddle lock bridge and the other 50 would be the P90 has that mid/low tone when I don't need full distortion ..... but I am also a " rookie " and learning new stuff all the time so my opinion subject to change as I understand things better ... also note if my Rampage was a saddle lock instead of the Schaller with the EMG and 1 3/4 nut would be my favorite and may have to look into Locking the Trem of the Schaller if it's possible

thx, that's helpful. I have been trolling the choices of the various guitars with the MFD pickups, and may be acquiring an ASAT special with the "big mfd's".
