USA made Fallout SERIAL NUMBER PLATE PROBLEM

Post by Cobainer5182 »

I am new here i searched for this and couldn't find any info. If i missed it please don't hate me , I am new. I just got an American made USA Fallout SN-# CLF067625 There is no "Birthmark" on the back of the head stock. The SN plate is quite low near the neck than from other G&L's I have seen. Could the Birthmark be under the Plate? Is this common? Did I get ripped off With a fake neck and real body? Any help would be really much appreciated. I paid near retail for a "NEW" guitar.

Thanks, Jack

Jack, the serial number plate on my Fallout is mounted at the very edge of birthmark. If the plate were mounted a bit lower, it would cover the birthmark. Post a picture if you can and I can post a picture of mine later when I have more time. -- Darwin

I bought it on e bay I don't have it in my possession yet from his pictures after I bought it I saw no birthmark. I am getting rid of am American Superhawk Cantrell model because it's too heavy for me and frankly I haven't seen many pictures or any of him actually using the Superhawk. If it is a "signature" guitar I'd assume he would add them to his line up. All the new pics of their tour show him still using his L.P. Customs for the double humbucker needs not his S.H. And the rampages he still plays, lots of them newer and one of the older ones. I know don't blast me it is just my opinion. It is an awesome, no amazing, guitar but it's got about an hour of playing time on it, so I'm selling it to pay for the fallout. It's just not right for ME personally.

As soon as I publish it I will if it is ok with this website. I don't want to break any rules an a newcomer. I am listing it pretty high because honestly is is as close to new as you're going to get. MUCH less played than a floor model. In truth about an hour to an hour and a half total playing time from me. All I did was shim the neck because I like lower action. It came to me really set up high. I didn't do any truss rod stuff I left it alone. It prob would need adjusting coming from California's climate to new jerseys.

Please do post the eBay link for the Fallout and use our Marketplace for posting your Ad for the JC Signature Superhawk.
And, do add both of them to our G&L Registry, too.
Also, please do read the Forum rules, link located toward the top of the sub-forum.

Thank you Craig, for the swift, firm, but kind rule regulation notification for me. I do not wish to be an unwelcomed guest to the wealth of knowledge of G&L guitars your group posses. I will thourohgly read everything in the rule book before I say or do much more.
My sincere apologizes.

He isn't trying to sell the Fallout. He's trying to figure out if it is a USA model. Seeing the Ebay Ad will help me (and US) help him. That is all I was asking for.

Yes, I know that, and asked that he post the eBay ad for it. He did say he was going to sell the Superhawk and that is why I said to post an Ad for the Superhawk in the Marketplace.

I think both of you have misread my post. I do know what you are looking for and you were not sure about posting eBay links on our site. Yes, you can and that's why I asked you
to post the eBay link, so that we all can see the photos of the Fallout you bought. Since you mentioned that you were going to sell the Superhawk to fund the Fallout, I mentioned
posting an Ad in our Marketplace for it. Once we see photos of the Fallout we will be able to answer your concerns.

Hope this clarifies my previous post.

Looking at a bunch of Fallouts by "lower" you probably mean closer towards the nut, correct?

That is correct Salmon. I did check some ebay listings and the plates are mounted in different positions relative to the birthmark. I wouldn't be too concerned about the guitar the OP is looking at.-- Darwin
Edit, the picture is a bit blurry but it shows the location of the plate.

Here is an ebay link, check the eleventh picture and notice the difference.

Darwin, yours is the closest I've seen the plate installed. Still no photos or link from our board buddy here.

I want to wait until I have the Fallout in my hands. His EBay picture may just have not captured it. There is some delay with UPS so my delivery date keeps getting pushed back. As soon as I get it I will post pics and give you all an update. Thanks for the pictures by the way. Hoping my situation is like yours and I just can't see the mark.

I really wonder why the plate wasn't placed to cover the birthmark

Hey guys I just got the guitar and sure enough I took off the sn# plate and they infact did put the plate over the birthmark. Infact part of the hole for the plate is drilled into the birthmark!!! Crazy right? I have never heard of this before. I have to figure how to post pictures from my I phone.
