Howdy

Post by Flyinmech »

I have a G&L ASAT 3 ? but the s/n G048524 doesn't match the year on your site. The factory sent me info that it was from 8/15/1996. From what I see here is the date range doesn't match? 1998-?
Anyone have any ideas. Also, the case has tape that states, "Honeyburst", but G&L say's Blonde. All I know is that the finish is almost white and you can see the blue wood veins underneath. I am working on getting pic's posted. My s/n range does not match the ASAT 3. CL vs G ? Anyhow all I know is that I do not like mosquito's but they sure like me. Happy 4th to everyone.

Howdy back at ya!

Everything Tim said rings true to me. It sounds like the light blonde finish like this to me. (Picture will tell but at this point I am just going by your words):

One time I bought a new guitar online from a dealer and they grabbed a case that belonged to a different guitar so I got the wrong paperwork. Coincidentally, I purchased a Honey guitar but the paperwork stated Blonde (there is also a Butterscotch Blonde but this was the light Blonde). I thought it would be easiest for the dealer to contact the other guy and arrange for both of us to send our case candy back to the dealer for a swap but I ended up getting new paperwork shipped to me directly from G&L. Both were post 2000's so yours being from the 90's means you don't have my case and paperwork.

The model name is ASAT III. See this page from the 1996-97 G&L Catalog page [located in the Gallery]:

And for body finishes, see this page from the same Catalog:

From your description, it sounds like it has the Blonde finish. Please post a photo, see Tutorial: Posting photos.

Like Tim said the serial numbers were issued in sequence. See Serial number significance.

Hope this helps.

Craig,

You must mean they were not issued in sequence.

Oops, yes they were not issued in sequence.

Sorry for the confusion [recently got back from Chicago and body is still on Chicago time].
