BLuesboy P90

Post by lefty_major »

Looking for the sounds of a Bluesboy P90. I found a young fellow on YouTube playing one but that's about it. He's pretty good but I can't get a good sense of the pickups in the video. Does anyone have anything they've recorded they care to share?

I listened to Nick J's Fallout review and so got a taste of the G&L P90 on that guitar. I've got P90s on a Peerless Songbird and I'm just trying get taste for the sound, the P90 by itself and in the middle position.

Thanks, Jag. I saw this one. Yeah, not the best presentation. The kid is good but I can't tell what pu he is playing in the opening.

Replying to my last post... I see now that the opening of his playing is the P90. Then toward the end he goes back to it although it looks like he adjusts the tone. Based on this video alone (it's all I have for reference), I think I like my ASAT Classic better. Of course he's got a different amp than I do.... :?

I could not hear the guitar's tone through his amp and effects setup. Nick Jaffe does a review of a Fallout that shows off the P90 really well.

I found Nick. He has two demos on the Fallout and bits where he focuses on the P90. Thanks, Jag. That's helpful. Nick does great reviews. But now I'm back to what ASAT is next? Maybe the Bluesboy P90? It's between that and the ASAT Classic S.

Nick's reviews are okay until he kicks in a distortion pedal.

At that stage it is all effect pedal and every guitar sounds the same.

I believe that when focusing on pickups after you have covered the clean tone you need to dial in the natural breaking up point of the amp and push from there.

Using a pedal for a pickup demo quickly becomes counterproductive.

Hey guys, this is a much better demo of the Bluesboy 90. It is from Maple Street Guitars.
