40th Birthday Guitar Wall...

Post by JagInTheBag »

Here is the humble beginnings of a G&L Wall, I put them up for my 40th Birthday and Housewarming this past weekend. Special thanks to Sam for sharing his measurements. Enjoy!

People, (left to right) My best friend from HS and my very first band mate, Russ, and myself of course.

Four of my G&L's (left to right) LE-2 #1, a one-off custom SC-2 in Korina and ASAT Super pups, an '87 Skyhawk with dual-vibrato Fine Tuner Bridge, my Orange Sparkle, clear pg Will Ray. The print is called "Tim's Place", depicting the Wellborn Musclecar Museum, which I curate and also do the promotion and marketing.

A print of SRV from the photographer who took the picture. It appeared on the cover of Guitar Player magazine. My "JagInTheBag", '65 Fender Jaguar.

The "RestamzzaL" and a print of "Where Horsepower is Made" the speed shop at Mr. Norm's Grand Spaulding Dodge during the 1960's. The car at the center I have brokered more than once.

I don't normally go after "artists series" instruments, this one had me from "hello". The WR Z-3 is a tremendous stand out as its own model, both in playing experience and collector desirability. I discovered your music and gained an appreciation for your style of play AFTER purchasing my first WR. So, again thank you Will.

Glad I could spark some memories. Here is an interview with Mr. Norm back in 2007.

While I am not the ASAT fanatic many of us here are on GbL, this is one phenomenal instrument. Will, knows how to dial some major mojo into a signature instrument. Now all they need to so is offer a WR Z3 Deluxe! :luv:

Sam, fianoman, GentlemanJim, Jos, tdiers, darwinohm, astutzmann, helleman, Fumble, etal: Thank you ALL for the Happy Birthday wishes. At 40, I feel like I am just coming into my own, having the impact that I want to- with my kids, in my business, and in the world in general. Picking up the guitar again is a big part of that.

Patrick, I can still remember my 40th. That was over 30 years ago and we partied all night. I don't do that anymore. It is rare for me to party later than 4 or 5 AM. Amazing what age can do to a guy. -- Darwin

Happy Birthday!

You and your buddy must be big guys. Those guitars look smaller scale on the wall. What camera did you use to take these photos? They are almost 3D they seem so sharp. I think I recall seeing a Honey S-500 you were selling to pay for the Sparkle Orange(?) That was a beauty too.
