The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.
Well campers I have finally started hanging some guitars on the walls. After seeing some of yer guitars looking like art work here is my first wall. May need to add different color wall paint and recessed lighting like some of you guys have.
This is drum practice space and fortunately the guitars are not in jeopardy when playing drums. The wall just works well for eight G&L's.
Left to right = ASAT JR, Braodcaster, 88 ASAT, ASAT Z3 SH, ASAT Deluxe, ASAT Custom w/DF, ASAT Classic Signature, Will Ray Signature ASAT
More G&L and Fender walls to follow, Milwaukee drill driver on the floor ready to install more hangars.
Nice! My wall is about to come together, so I should be posting my own pics in the near future. I like the staggered look. I might go with that myself.
Ken, look forward to your pictures. We (my wife and I) went with staggered at this level to keep them on studs and from being too low. We thought about using thick plastic toggle bolts to get 10 - 12 on the wall but we decided to keep them secrely on studs, and 10 - 12 would have been a bit cramped for that space in my opinion.
Salmon - I may rotate others on this wall but I agree #6, 7 and 8 will probably always be shown.
Am I the only one who uses a super soft cloth over the hook so the guitar doesn't have long term contact with the stand material? I even do that for floor stands
I don't leave my poly guitars in stands for very long. I may play one or two a lot and will leave them in a stand during these 2-3 week intervals but they are kept in their cases otherwise. If it is particularly cold, hot or humid I treat them like nitro and they are out of the case only so long as I am actively playing with the exception of short breaks.
I am paranoid when it comes to nitro. Even though I bought a special stand that is reported by users to be true to the manufacturer's claims of being "nitro safe for many lacquer finishes" (the best they can say and cover their tails) I still only have the guitar in the stand while I take a break when playing. I don't keep it there. It lives in the case until I take it for a spin. If I am playing the nitro guitar a lot over days or weeks it is sleeping in the case when I am not there to play it.
I also carefully wipe off all of the fingerprints, moisture, oils and dust when I am done for the day. Always a clean guitar in the case.

I do that too, especially after noticing some stress cracks in the finish on one of the L-2000's ,
right where the headstock contacts the hangar . I think it must have been from a previous owners
hangar , or maybe it hung in a store for long while...but it shows that without a little padding they can damage the instrument
over time.
All of my guitars have lived in cases until now and I have been reluctant to putting up wall hangars because of fear of marking a neck but finally decided to hang some. I can see soft guitar cloth being added to the hanging routine, thanks for the idea Jeff. Any one else with "wall art" have experienced neck issues or other safety suggestions?
Elwood, fortunately no wild drummers in the house.

Did they spontaneously combust?? Wish I had room to set up my drums. I have an electronic set for practice but it's just not the same as beating the crap out of a regular set. Great for releasing tension.
As a fellow wall art lover.... That looks amazing! Its been about a year and a half since I have hung mine up and so far no adverse effects that I have noticed!
Spinal Tap drummer spontaneously combusted and all that was left is a Boogie F-50, Boogie Lonestar Special, Blues Deluxe, Vibro Champ and Fender 1 watt amp
Sam , I am impressed you took the time to move the drums and put the amps underneath the guitars just for a photo shoot for these guy's .... lol .... looks good !
I had few minutes during Craig Ferguson to see what it would look like and you know those guys can lead us down a rabbit hole if we're not careful. I forgot to mention the new little Vox Mini 3 on the Blues Deluxe.
The basement has all the guitar smell and that small of sweat and desperation chasing the guitar dragon!
I love the smell of new guitars and new guitar cases, you know That Smell
