Tenth set of photos from the Factory for 2014 ...

Post by Craig »

Here's the tenth set of photos for 2014, which were posted on G&L's Facebook page (May 16-26, 2014):
Here's a gorgeous Fallout in Ruby Red Metallic, 3-ply black guard, rosewood board on a beautifully figured maple neck with Clear Satin finish.
Serial number CLF070496 is on its way to Rockland Music Center in Nanuet, New York. A lucky customer will soon fall in love with this Fallout.
We did.

Here's an ASAT Classic S Alnico in 3-Tone Sunburst over alder, arm and back contours, 3-ply white guard, black middle pickup cover,
rosewood board, Clear Satin neck finish. Serial number CLF070504 is heading out to St. John's Music Calgary, Canada.
This ASAT sports a modded look, taking an otherwise traditional aesthetic and dropping in a contrasting black middle pickup.
Of course, this guitar is more sophisticated than that, as the neck and bridge have the same polarity and the middle pickup is
reverse wound for hum-cancelling 2 and 4 positions. Add in the push/pull tone pot to get the extra pickup combos, and this guitar
is more than its modded look suggests.

Here's a beautiful lefty ASAT Deluxe in Tobacco Sunburst over a Flame Maple top, matching headstock, wood binding, arm and rear contour,
black knurled knobs and switch tip, ebony board, Graph-Tech nut, Clear Satin neck finish.
Serial number CLF070501 is heading out to Adirondack Guitar in Hudson Falls, New York.
Lefties often feel left out, but G&L offers a wide range of models for lefties with all the colors, pickguards, neck profiles and more that righties can get.
Better still, we don't hike up prices and lead times for lefthanded instruments. Case in point: this spectacular ASAT Deluxe.

Here's an S-500 in Candy Apple Red, 3-ply white guard, white covers, chrome knurled knobs, maple neck with Clear Satin finish.

Image
Here's an ASAT Classic Alnico in white over alder, wood binding, 3-ply mint guard, birdseye maple neck with Vintage Tint Gloss finish and vintage frets.
The mint gives it a hint of retro while the wood binding adds an elegant, contemporary touch.
Serial number CLF070502 is on its way to Distinctive Guitar in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

A great example of a Legacy Deluxe in Honeyburst over a flame maple top on mahogany,

The "JB-2 in 3-Tone Sunburst over flame maple on swamp ash, ebony board with face dots deleted, stainless steel frets, matching headstock" looks pretty spectacular.

I didn't know you could get wood binding with the front arm contour ASAT body. Alo didn't know ASAT Classic Customs were still being made.

Ruby Red photographs in the factory as good as it photographs outdoors. It is a luscious finish.

Wow, great set of picture. Just what I've been looking for. The ASAT Classic Alnico in Butterscotch Blonde has my interest, since I've gone back to playing just Telecasters style guitars. I have been watching ebay for a pre CBS Blonde (fender)or an pre 91' Asat Classic, but not much in offering or lets just say the price has not been to my liking.

I only hope a dealer near me shows up with one of G&L's new babies. If they play and feel as great as they look, it will have found a new home.

P.S.
Craig,
I been trying to add my ASAT pic as an update to my profile. Don't see anything that say add an advtar, help

Jim,

Click 'User Control Panel' at underneath the GLDP V2.0 panel. In the list on the left, click on 'Profile'. 'Edit avatar' will be the 3rd entry in that list with a chevron in front.

Hope this helps,

That ruby red metallic Fallout haunts me in my sleep. I mocked one up almost a year ago on the guitar builder, but the mock-up below doesn't come close to the real deal.

Wood binding on front arm contours has been available for quite some time. See: Current US Neck/Body Binding & Contours Options
and http://www.glguitars.com/instruments/US ... inding.asp.

When I saw the ASAT Classic Custom posted on G&L's Facebook page I sent this email to Dave:
Hi Dave,

You recently posted a factory photo of an ASAT Classic Custom on the G&L Facebook page just completed for UpFront Guitars.
Can this model still be ordered (as an off-menu item) or was that a one-time special order for this dealer?

Thanks,

-Craig
Here's his reply:
Hi Craig,

No, it is not. I think we have a few parts so we may do one here and there, but that's about it. Thanks, Craig.

Dave
Also, I notice that there are several ASAT Classic Custom pickguards being offered in the G&L On-Line Store under the Clearance section.

Hope this helps.

These photo postings are really helpful to have when considering the next guitar. I noticed on Friday the guitar builder site (american guitar and band) is down so the factory photos help when considering color scheme. I keep wondering if I'll see my custom order in one of these postings. Please keep this up.

You will need to visit G&L's Facebook page (that's where I get them from) for the next few months to see the factory photos,
as I will not be able to post them, see: Where's Craig June through August ....

Eric,

Since American Guitar & Band is out of business, nobody will fix it :-( It's been a kind of painful year as far as G&L dealerships are concerned with AGB and BB disappearing … However, just to make sure, the builder still is up under the .net domain and seems to be functional. At least I could;t find anything that didn't work in the short time I tested it.

Jos, thanks for posting that link to the builder. I believe that G&L owns the builder but I agree that nothing will get done with it. Perhaps we need a permanent link to it so at least people can build guitars to view. I would hope that Craig could get permission to do that. -- Darwin

Taking over the online guitar builder came up in the thread announcing the closure of AGB.

There it was mentioned that AGB was only closing the brick & mortar store but would remain as an online dealer presence only.

Has that changed?

darwinohm wrote:Just a quick note here. AGB is closing it's Plymouth store April 1. Apparently the AGB website will continue and nothing will change at this time with the builder. They will continue to be a G&L dealer as I understand. I do not know a lot of details and am sharing only what I have found out. -- Darwin
